Legal
Child Protection Policy
We have zero tolerance for the sexual exploitation of children.
Zero tolerance
Material that sexually exploits or endangers children has no place on this service. It is illegal, and there is no context in which we accept it.
Gatebase shortens links, it does not host files. That changes nothing about this rule: a shortened link must not lead to such material, and using our service to spread it is a permanent ban and a report to the authorities.
What happens after a report
Every report is read by a person. We do not warn the account holder beforehand.
The link is removed
We disable the shortened link as soon as we have seen the report. It stops working immediately.
The account is closed
The account behind the link is terminated permanently, together with every other link it created. Any pending balance is forfeited.
Evidence is preserved
We keep the records we hold about the link and the account so they are available to the authorities.
The authorities are informed
We report the case to the competent law enforcement authority and answer their questions without delay.
How to report
Write to us with the subject “Child protection (Gatebase)”. Reports are treated as urgent and in confidence.
support@gatebase.toPlease include
- The shortened link, for example gbase.cc/abc1
- What you saw, in one or two sentences
- When you opened it
Do not download, save or forward the material to document it. Sending us the link is enough, and possessing it is a criminal offence in itself.
Working with law enforcement
We answer requests from law enforcement about accounts and links connected to the sexual exploitation of children promptly and in full. Where the law requires us to hand over data, we do so. Where it allows us to act on our own, we act.
If you are in immediate danger or a child is at risk right now, contact your local emergency number first. We are not an emergency service.
